SE3EP12: Mini Room Tour/Update!

"Ship's Log, Stardate 94877.18:
Aside from spring cleaning, no major changes have taken place since the last update, but I'm very happy with a few recent additions to my home office space.  Come in and take a look!

I started by clearing out everything I am not currently using on a regular basis.  Those items were then tossed, donated, sold, or carefully packed up and put into storage.

Here is all that's left in my bottom three makeup drawers, now!
The top two now only contain my currently used tools and moisturizers.

Once the excess was gone, I carefully set the remaining items in their new places...
Left box - empty tool baggie and used brushes to be washed that weekend.
Right box - mirror, oil blotting papers, gloss, tweezers, and a pen and pad for notes.
...and a few brand new items as well.

The hourglass is just a little acrylic one from Daiso.  I wanted a 3 minute timer for my lash glue to get tacky without needing to grab the one I use in the restroom for brushing my teeth (also Daiso!)

The magnetic, bamboo brush holder is by Quirky and I love it!  I wanted something that either held my brushes sideways or upside down, without allowing them to touch each other (both to store them, and hold them after washing), and this was perfect.  Having magnetic sides was a bonus, and allows me to easily reach and display individual shades of shadow and highlighter.

It even matches most of my brushes, which are just an Eco Tools set from the drugstore.  They have served faithfully for a loooong time (which is why I have an old fashioned brow comb rather than the brow spoolie all the cool kids use now).  The rest are all ipsy scores, aside from my bent angle brushes, which were individual purchases.

Then we have a little side storage!

Up top, I keep my fragrances, medicine/vitamins, a few cotton pads and q-tips for makeup mistakes, and then all the samples I want to try or finish having fun with.  Then below are more containers, for jewelry and headphones or transporting tiny items like medicine or earrings.

My dog is like a bull in a china shop, (no, really), so I'm just using repurposed shelves and baskets stacked together for additional storage.  The heavy and tall items are stud anchored, though.  Come at me, Cascadia subduction zone...

And more in the corner!

Just to squeeze as much use out of the space as possible, I keep some additional shoe storage, the rest of my stacked baskets (which contain hair tools, lotion, deodorant, and other similar items), and my chargers.

Up above is a foam "cork board" that I pin notes and stick sticky notes to - I took them down for this photo because they are work-related/confidential, so my space calendar looks a little lonely.  Oh, and some gloomies that I use to hold battery packs or access badges (nothing like swiping a pink bear to get through a locked door).

Off to the left is my free-standing mirror, dress form, and coat stand.

I also keep my trashbin and a pop-up laundry basket squeezed under there, for easy access (sometimes I take my socks off in my office and don't want to walk across the house to my other laundry bin, haha!)

Then there's the tall wall...

These cubbies haven't gone through much change, other than slight rearranging and dusting.  I keep everything from gym and lounge clothes, to backup electronics and art supplies in there.

The "utility wall" beside it, however, has had an organizational overhaul:

Here are some closeups of behind the door and my main jewelry rack:

And my repurposed, behind-the-door shoe rack, (although for me, it's a sewing and paper scissors separator, thread organizer, and "where the lost lighters go").

Many important things live here... like measuring tape and safety scissors!
I have a little more storage now on the other end of the room, where I keep my work bag, weather gear like cute hats and gloves, and for-sale and infrequently used lolita item storage.

Here's a few closeups of where I store extra pins and brooches, replacement buttons, and more:

A repurposed cupcake carousel and Daiso ring holders hold lesser-worn jewelry.

Important documents, extra tote bags, my gym bag, extra makeup baggies, etc. goes in here.

And I guess that just leaves three c's - couch, carpet, and closet!

I still love my tiny tufted couch!  Also, juuuuuust low enough that my dog can climb up.
My Van Gogh pillows are from Society6.
I love this rug, it was the perfect balance of rustic and romantic.  Another Society6 score!
And of course, where the treasure lives...
The only remaining pink clothing item is a classical puppets petticoat!
In here are glasses, gloves, sashes, wristcuffs, jabots, neck ribbons, collars, and so on.

And here's a top shelf view, since a few are cut off from the front:

It's all hat, crown, and purse-ville up there...

And that's pretty much it!  I hope you enjoyed the tour!

Do you have a zone that is 100% yours to decorate or lolita-fy?  Is it your desk at work, or locker at school, a single room, or your entire home?  Or maybe something cute, small and personal like a trapper-keeper or personal organizer!  Please share, I'd love to see, even if it's just a pinterest dream you hope to create eventually!  After all, that's what mine started as! :P

Until next time!  Bear out!"
