Season Two - Episode 7: "Psst! - It's Totally Fine! To Comment on Old Posts! Also I Wore that Crown I Made!"

Okay, so I bit the bullet and wore the crown.

They are normally not my jam, and I have never tried making one before.

I tried it as both a "standalone hat" and a "giant hair accessory".  By that I mean I tried it where just the crown is the statement piece on my head (and my head would be small and unbalanced without it), and I also tried it as an addition to really really big hair, where without the giant hair, the look is imbalanced and the crown just fits in.

Fanplusfriend breeches, vest, and blouse. The neck and wrist ribbons are F21.

I'll try and keep it mixed up with props and editing effects,
but here's my latest censor bar!

I kept the makeup simple and used a plum shadow as eye liner.
It's the Meet Matt(e) Trimony I mentioned before.

And for the second look... (I kept the sash, neck and wrist ribbons).

Sometimes, I forget my eyes are brown, but they stood out with the wine liner.
Mine are pretty mute with black eyeliner - better for baby blues.

More burgundy "shadow liner", but with a deep wine/plum lip.

The pearls at the bottom are part of a faux "underskirt" I added a while back. AP is a little short for me, but I hate wearing extra layers, so several of my dresses have this kind of lace addition on the bottom.  

(Would anyone be interested in a mini tutorial about that?  I could have sworn I wrote about that before...  Anyway, the laces can be found on etsy or taobao, and I go for at least 3.75" in length so that I'm getting at least +2.75 inches of length if I'm sewing it directly into AP's slip stitch along the bottom.)

I think I would have preferred a black on black, or ivory on ivory crown.

I have an ivory fur puff that looks great inside the crown, but I still need to dig out an appropriate ivory dress to coord it (both ivory and navy Queen's Coach are in storage right now, it would look great with those).

For black on black, it's time for me to invest in some black glass pearls and get to crafting!

Lolita Blog Carnival has picked up again, and since I was one of the squeaky wheels, I'm going to do my best to participate in as many as I comfortably can.

Next up is a bit of a challenge though - how to beat the heat in frills...  I am planning a simple outfit for a date night with Mr. J, so maybe that can count?  Goodness knows I have to keep the fits light, cool, and comfortable with that one - he walks fast.
