Episode 10: Feeling Feminine
(and also The Bern!)

"Ship's Log, Stardate 93893.59:
Just when I finally documented opening of one of those magenta foil packets without summoning J.J. Abrams, I went and deleted the file!

Yes, that was a lens flare joke.
Tell me you have never signaled S.O.S with one of those bags.

So you'll have to settle for words and a picture, sorry!

I am pretty okay with this week's baggie.  Lavender/lilac isn't really my color, but I'll wear anything on my nails, and the lip shade should work for me as I really love crayon applicators and the shade is dark enough.

The moroccan oil is my jam, however, I cannot wait to start wearing my natural hair loose (I tend to stick to buns, braids, and bantu knots).  I wouldn't recommend products like that to anyone with thin light hair, but mine is resistant to all forms of volume control and it loves this stuff.

I also received a brush, which, I mean, it's a brush, you know how they work.  Nothing to complain about though, fluffy and feels durable, looks cute.  The highlighter shades also look pretty good, on the cheeks, bridge, or as eye shadow.  I tried a blush/bronzer combo last month and hated that, but highlighter/eyeshadow seems to make much more sense on my skin tone.

My setup:

I opened everything up with some nice lit (fake - ha!) candles and a cup of coffee at my vanity.  I really like this space, it's brightly lit, and I can easily see if Mr. J is trying to sneak in via reflection.  Having my own space for getting ready in the morning has really helped me stay on time and organized, and keeps me from worrying that all my crap has taken over the bathroom counters.

There is also something very soothing and feminine feeling (for girls or guys who enjoy that feeling) about sitting in front of a lovely vanity, instead of leaning over an artificially lit sink to hold your face three inches from toothpaste splatter.

My more frequently used items, like brushes, mascara, and lip gloss, stay in little Daiso dishes on top.

And a recent outfit:

Remember those Bodyline roses I took apart and pushed pins through to turn into clips that I wore with Chantilly's Queen Cat?  I used them this time as shoe clips, and as a detachable accessory for my Chess Story lace headdress (that I have already customized the heck out of).

JSK - Angelic Pretty's Musee du Chocolate.  Blouse - Atelier Pierot.

Gratuitous selfie.  Just when you thought you could start taking me seriously.

I pinned the bodice to the elastic at the top of the blouse for the strapless effect.

Tomorrow, I will once again be wearing "normal clothes".  Well, my idea of normal, which is obviously not well calibrated, because I have already made some local political friends based on, you guessed it, the way we dressed at caucus.  I will be participating in round 2, the legislative district caucus, and as I get nervous, I really really want to be as comfortable as possible.

I'll also need to carry some printouts with me (about why my chosen candidate is so freaking awesome, of course!), water, backup cell battery, etc, so I'll want a bag or pockets, it's just too much to worry about all together, so normal clothes for me!  I did see a cute thread in Rufflechat, though, where others who chose to wear lolita to the first caucus event posted.  So cute!  And so passionate!  FEELIN THE BERN!

Coming soon!  Again!  Friday Work Outfits!

Between this and the move right before it, I have been running in circles, and wearing pants.  But I am back in a carpool (with friends, no less - not just coworkers) so now that I'll be commuting a little less... publicly, I'll start dialing up the work outfits again.  It's been a while since I've worn a petticoat to work.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!
I will sweep EVERYTHING off the desks (or at least mine)!

Sorry, I am really pumped for caucus, I have been every since the first one.  Next week should be a little more calm (it is doubtful I will go beyond this point as a delegate, as there are plenty of volunteers to represent), and I have also joined Lolita Blog Carnival!

I found a few blogs I really enjoy reading and followed them, and am working on getting the thumbnail incorporated into my posts.  The next step is to opt in to a chosen topic and post, and I'll probably share a short list of my favorite blogs to read through as well.  Until next time, folks!  And as always, I will leave this frequency open for response!

- Bear out!"
