Episode 7: The Caucus and the Command Center

"Ship's Log, Stardate 93836.13:

Today is a perfect example of how sometimes, you just want to blend in with the locals...

and wear jeans and a hoodie.  Nothing conspicuous here!

At 10:00 AM, I will be fulfilling my civic duty by caucusing in my precinct.  After that, I will head back to the old assignment to clean and to take a final payload of unwanted, but perfectly good items to donation, and sell the rest.  Afterwards, Mr. J and I will tackle another dinner from Blue Apron.  Full day.

The new Command Center is coming along well.

My couch has arrived, and I put together a makeshift "vanity" until the real deal arrives next week.  I still haven't yet ordered the thermal pool rug and pillows, but I think I finally have the closet arranged in the way I would like it to be.  The rest of the house is also unpacked and everything is in its place.

One of my packages has already arrived:
Two blouses and two hats from FanPlusFriend.

Weirdly, they arrived in three days.  I ordered on March 22nd, and they arrived by March 25th.  All four items are fantastic, especially for their prices.

I may have the blouse bodies taken in slightly, or add back corset lacing, but the construction is well done and the material feels smooth, durable, and has a slight stretch to it.  I can man-handle the buttons without any fear they will come loose.

The hats flex and bounce back into their correct shape easily, though I wish both ribbons were grossgrain rather than satin on the brown hat.  They fit well, with or without a wig, and I like the little turned up side either in the front, side, or back.

I should really lay off with the biscuit bags...

Other packages on the way:

A package from Bodyline with more staples - a black and a blackxwhite old school headdress, and 5 more of the $1 velvet millinery roses that I used previously to decorate this tricorn.  

A package from Amazon with a replacement - a white beaded chandelier to replace my baby blue one once I redecorate my cubby furniture. 

And a package from Harajuku Hearts with a *wishlist item - a Chantilly hat pin, a Putumayo mushroom ring, and finally, the Atelier Pierot Napoleon Bolero.
