"Ship's Log, Stardate 93816.98:
We have reached our new assignment unscathed and have un-boxed everything.
Moving: complete.
There are still a few things left to do on the list, though. The walls are still bare, and I am currently without a chair and desk, since I plan to downsize.
After selling much of my too-large or unwanted furniture on craigslist, I put some of the money in savings and used some to purchase a small couch (in white, to match my other furniture, as well as vinyl/pleather/etc. so that it can be easily wiped clean of fur) and a vanity.

Much more of a National Park theme going on here...
I'm going to wait until those items arrive before I finally decide on a photograph floor rug. Currently, I'm going for a warm, thermal pool and wild animal, Yellowstone vibe. I will go ahead and start on the DIY faux fur cubbies and the drift wood ball, however, and will start looking for my new local craft stores this weekend. When I finally decide on a color for the wall accents, I will likely go with vinyl decals.
While we are on the subject of crafting, I have made a very sensible change to the way my supplies are stored - I moved them into small, easily accessible, and easily visible compartments.
Closeup! I might like Rilakkuma as much as I like Gloomy...
Everything from sewing repair and machine kits, to duct tape and jewelry making tools!
My wardrobe was a little haphazardly unpacked, but it fits nicely (very nicely, in fact, I am finally able to hang my blouses again) into the new closet in my office, because although the opening is standard, both sides continue about two more feet behind the doors. Here is what it looks like currently.

I may replace the doors, which only allow one side to be open at a time, with a curtain.
I still need to grab my camera mount from the old place, but for the most part, I am set up and ready to go! Here are some pics of recent looks taken in the new spot. The lighting here is much better, both artificial and natural. I finally have two windows again!
Yolanda military set, and a shoehorned bitter and gold biscuit bag cause it's my favorite...
My bodyline OP, handmade tricorn, and the same boots, worn folded, that Mr. J got for me.
From here on out, there should be lots of un-boxing. Tomorrow, I will grab my ipsy package from reception (I got NYX liquid suede cream lipstick this time around, so I'm hoping I got the neutral dark or bold red shade, and not the youthful pink color), my vanity and couch are already on their way. I have also ordered a new mini chandelier for my cubby case to replace the blue one and better blend in with the new theme.

I'll replace the stripes with new landscape artwork, too.
Thanks to hospital and moving costs, as well as saving up in general, especially for a down payment on a home, I haven't been making too many lolita purchases lately, but now that we're all settled, and into a place that is significantly less expensive than my last, I can finally start filling my closet with some Atelier Boz and more Putumayo!
I am very glad that I stuck to the responsible route to begin with, however, even though my content has probably been pretty dry lately. My wallet is happy, others are now very happy with the things I didn't want or need, and I'm learning to make better use out of what I already have. Hopefully going forward, you'll see more new coords and more new items from me. As usual, I will leave this frequency open for response!
- Bear out!"
