Log #64: Halloween in Portland!

Kumoricon All Hallows' Kawaii Tea Party
& High Tea at the Geiser Grand Hotel

In late October, I went to Portland again with two of my friends for Kumoricon.  We were all attending the Kumoricon All Hallows' Kawaii Tea Party on Sunday, and wanted to spend the whole weekend down there having fun.

The first day we just chilled, but on Saturday, we went to have high tea at the Geiser Grand Hotel.  It was so relaxing.  Everything was beautiful and there weren't many other people there, so it was mostly quiet save for the player piano.

They brought a case of their featured loose leaf teas for us to check out.  I went with the Silver Needle, No. 26., which was nice all by itself.

The tea tower was great.  The scones and biscuits were definitely my favorite from this lineup, but that's par for the course - I always like those better than the straight sweet or savory items.

This is what I wore for Saturday tea.  The dress is Antique Beast (and is sooooo comfy), and everything else is offbrand.  I wanted something that would be comfortable enough to wear and walk around in for the whooooole day, until I was finally ready to resign myself to a kigurumi for the rest of the night, so I just went with Melissa flats (and a huge purse).

On Sunday, we we all wore heels, though!

Here's a shot we grabbed together, in between hallways and dim lighting, haha!

And here's us in our group photo from the event (there were so many attendees that a full group picture was nearly impossible, hence taking them in little groups like this, haha).

The handmade decorations in the photo area were so cute, too - cute and spooky treat themed!  I love personal touches, like that.  It's not just a preset pack of decorations from Party City, someone actually crafted things by hand, which I think makes it extra special.

After the tea party, we managed to get some cute pics of each others full coords in the park, with all the fallen leaves, too!

I wore an Atelier Boz dress, the tights are Putumayo, and the rest is offbrand again (and that tricorn I made with an amazon.com hat).
(Man, those shoes were soooo uncomfortable, I was already sore on Sunday and those stupid shoes just added to the pain. :/  Do. Not. Recommend.)

And to wrap this up, here's a selfie from Friday (sorry, no full outfit shot from Friday) and Saturday.

I was really excited about my new Antique Beast headdress, so I wanted an excuse to wear it.  I'd review it, but everyone has one now.  Trust me, they are worth it if you like them.  For Sunday, I wanted to dress up a simple braid crown, so I wore pearl screws throughout the braid crown, and my rose headdress in the back to complete the circle.

Thanks for stopping by!  See you next time!
