SE3EP15: DreamHolic, Demeter, and F+F

"Ship's Log, 94934.64:
The items I've been waiting for have arrived!  Two blouses, a vest, cape, overdress, and shoes from Fanplusfriend, a short base twin tail wig from DreamHolic, and two cologne sprays from Demeter.

I haven't gotten around to wearing everything yet, like the shoes, which I really want to walk around in a bit before reviewing, but I'll cover what I've gotten into so far.

First, is the DreamHolic wig I've been waiting for!  It was a long shipping wait, but totally worth it.  I'm really happy with what I got for the price.

Color:
I can't get enough of the color.  It would never pass as real hair, but it's much more subdued than other unnaturally colored wigs I have tried, and far less fake looking.  I took a couple of photos in natural and artificial light below.  The purple is slightly longer than the brown, so the ends "glow" a bit more.

Style:
Short bases and clip falls are my jam.  The fluffy crazy curls are perfect, imo.  However, I can't really pull off long, sleek, or braided styles with a wig like this, like I could with the gray Purple Plum wig.

Weight:
It's quite a bit lighter than the gray wig, mostly because the falls are very layered and much shorter.  I don't really need to use the combs or anchor this wig in place with bobby pins.

Maintenance:
I think this one will be fairly easy to maintain because a deceptively large amount of the hair is short.  The long side twirls on the base, and the very bottom layer of wefts in the clips are the only really long bits that would be prone to tangling.  It's pre-teased, also, so I don't see myself putting a lot of wear and tear on this wig with styling.

Fit:
My head is probably between small and average.  I definitely needed to use the adjustments in the back to tighten it up, but it could still be tightened or loosened a bit either way.  The bangs were about a centimeter too long and needed to be trimmed, but the rest was just right, as is.

Shipping:
Forever... or what felt like it.

Flaws:
None that I could spot!

Here it is with just the base, with the long bits pulled back (they are long enough to braid), and left forward:

And some closeups of the blend in different lighting:

Indoor artificial lighting (incandescent) and indoor natural lighting (open window).

A few more with natural lighting to show the blend, I really like it!
The "glow" bits are slightly longer than the blended brown, so the ends really pop.

Overall, very satisfied!

I might even order more, in other blended colors and styles, now that I know I can survive that shipping time...

Up next is this Neo-Ludwig blouse from FanPlusFriend and this overskirt.  I purchased them to go together, and also because I needed another style of well-fitting blouse, in white.  I may eventually order this one in black, too, though.

And I know it may not be Baby or AP, but I seriously adore this lace, and it feels nice and soft.

Appearance:
Flattering and fancy.  Nothing looks cheap or too gaudy, it's very lovely overall.  I think I would like this one untucked over skirts, too, the ruffled bottom is very cute.  I am seriously in love with their custom lace, too.

Fit:
Perfect.  I ordered Lady 75.  It's fits perfectly in the shoulders.   Most blouses and cutsews are far too narrow there, even when the rest fits.  The corset lacing in the back also brings it in flatteringly, so I really want to try pairing it with a skirt.

Durability:
I haven't washed it yet, but I'm not at all concerned.  All my other F+F blouses do just fine in a normal wash cycle with basic precautions taken (corset lacing removed, garment bags for items with metal buttons and rivets, hang dry, etc).  It also has a very slight stretch to it, and the seems feel very sturdy.

Flaws:
None that I could spot!

Shipping/Packing:
Arrived pretty darn fast for items that weren't pre-made, but I was honestly a bit sad to see that they had not included any of their cool garment bags with the logo.  Luckily I still have some from previous orders.

The last item I was able to give a good trial run was this Neo-Ludwig overdress that I purchased to go with the blouse, and over the cage skirt I already have (mine has the black overskirt removed, though).

I plan on wearing this, or something similar, out with friends this weekend to celebrate the fact that I have survived for 10220 days*.

[*I think that makes twenty-eight solar cycles, now... almost thirty  ୧[ * ಡ ▽ ಡ * ]୨  Whatever, it's a nice excuse for beer, birthday hats, and cake!  Sometimes, one must boldly grow... older.]

It's fun, flirty, inexpensive, versatile and lightweight.  I'm really glad I decided to take a chance on this piece and try it out, I think it makes a very good starter piece for learning ero-lolita (without worrying about breaking the bank, or dry cleaning!)

Unexpected, but the gray and "gray-ish" Purple Plum and Dream Holic wigs balance well with the gray overskirt part.  With the rest being black, and with gold buttons, I might be able to work this into a few other coords as well, rather than just being the main piece.

Appearance:
The shape and design of it is super cute, and I would only tweak a few things, taking in a small triangle of material from the front, and tightening up the elastic in the back.  It has the gold F+F buttons, which, like their material and lace selections, vary slightly depending on when you order it, but is always the same aesthetic.  I wish that the materials of the skirt and vest part were a bit more luxurious, but then it would probably be more expensive, haha!

Fit:
I ordered Lady 75 again.  This one could use a little tightening in the elastic of the waist, and a thin triangle darted out of the front, but that's pretty simple to do.  The rest is great, including the length in the skirt material, AND in the torso.

Durability:
I haven't washed it yet, but I'm not concerned about this one either.  I will probably throw it in with my black hand-wash items, in the tub, however, rather than the machine.

Flaws:
None that I could spot!

Shipping/Packing:
Same as the blouse, arrived surprisingly fast, safely packed, but no goodies this time (that's alright, I've gotten plenty).

Still to do are the Demeter fragrances (no surprises there, I love them both, and I ordered samples of several other scents that I'm excited to try, like Petrichor and Pruning Shears), the other blouse (just the white version of my favorite black blouse), the black vest and cape (a repurchase, in the correct size, for armhole's sake, and selling my older one to a smaller friend)...

Here's a good example of what I mean by "different materials, same aesthetic".  This is the same item, but purchased years apart, and all materials, even the buttons, are slightly different.  I like both, but I do prefer the newer, velvety finish over the old corduroy one.

(aaaah, I think the price went up since I got em...)

I am SO excited about these, but I want to put them through their paces, first.  If they kill my feet or fall apart, I will report back, but so far, they feel nice and cushy!  The high back is soft and I don't think it will rub against my heels.  I wish they had easy snaps or hooks, though, I'm too lazy for buckles, haha!  I might have to modify these...

Anyway, I'm getting tired, and I haven't spent enough time with the rest of this stuff yet to really give you an honest review, so that's all for now!  More next time, once I get to wearing them!

See you next time! Bear out!"
This frequency will remain open for response.
