Season 2: Episode 12: "I said I was gonna, and I did!"

"Ship's Log, Stardate 94261.58:

I have done two of the things I said I was going to do.

First, I have re-done my capsule wardrobes.

The light gray means PUT AWAY!  It's laundry day for us over here...

My main capsule wardrobe, the one I use to form throw-it-on-and-go work outfits, is now pretty small.  It is technically a 37 piece wardrobe if you count items like my belts, sunglasses, handbags, and raincoat, but I did this one fresh based on the guidelines provided at Unfancy, and focused instead on Shoes, Bottoms, Tops, Dresses, and Outerwear.  

And since I love recording things (and would probably lose track of half my stuff if I didn't...), I made a separate table for my Accessories, which are swapped out according to weather and necessity, rather than season and style. I finally settled on a raincoat that matches everything - a clear PVC one!

The blank space is for one more piece of weather gear - possibly a rain hat or umbrella, but right now I'm focused on the organizing and being happy with what I already have part, and not the buying part.

And I put together 16 tentative outfit ideas with it so far!

I did two each with the skirts and dresses, because those are more comfortable for me to wear more frequently, and one outfit each with my pantsuit and skinny jeans, since I tend to wear pants less frequently and on cooler days.  After I wear a few, I might put together a small collage.

I also worked on my J-fash inventory (I don't think I can seriously refer to it as a capsule any longer) and have started highlighting items I am prepared to let go of that I wasn't before.

Everything highlighted in eggshell is being listed for sale!  There are definitely others I'm certain I will eventually be ready to let go of, but those definitely no longer bring me joy OR get worn, so it's time for them to get the boot and make someone else's wardrobe complete.

And for the second thing I said I was going to do...

I coordinated the mint jacket I mentioned last time!

It goes with my regular wardrobe for now, but I am very happy with the cut (super short, but the sleeves are still long, and plenty of room in the shoulders!) and color (muted mint, not too bright) and have already paired it with one of my brown (though, not chocolate) JSKs!

The beret is from Fanplusfriend (I purchased two so that I could turn one into the Leo Beret, and still have another that is fairly plain), the silk blouse is from etsy like the jacket, wrist cuffs are AP, and the JSK is Electric Circus in the Moonlight Night by Alice and the Pirates. 

Swimmer bag (the bitter x gold one is my second fav, now, just behind the Eat Me cookie bag) and Breckelle UTK boots, which I'll eventually swap out for some heel-less OTKs in the same color (hellooooo, comfort!).

Ugh, I gotta clean my mirror this week...

Here is a more work appropriate take on the same coord:

Booties over boots, petti over cage, cami over blouse, and updo over loose curls.
I also skipped the military wrist cuffs, but still wore my MCF badge, because I'm a work nerd.

Up next, I plan to re-do my photo collage of all my items like I did here and here, and then start documenting the outfits I come up with using the new charts.  I might do one for makeup as well, just to help myself keep the collection under control and paired down to favorites only.
